Katrina's School of Dance

We have our Dance Revue (recital) at Durant High School.  We like to have our show a week or two after the public schools close, so as to give our students time to 'recover' from final exams, rest up & be 'worry free' to enable them to give you an entertaining, enjoyable show!  I know this can be a bit rough trying to plan your summer vacations, but over the years I've listened to input from the dancers & try to make the experience most pleasing to them, since this is THEIR night!

IT'S VERY important that as a parent, when you give your word on your child's commitment to performing in the Dance Revue, that you not make 'other plan's' after committing to the show.  Periodically I have parents inform me after costumes are ordered & choreography is finished & classes are halfway through learning their dance numbers, that their child will not be able to do the mandatory studio rehearsal, dress revue or the show because 'SOMETHING ELSE CAME UP' & they ask me if this is a problem.  Of course, it is....for the 'child that is not following through' it may not be a 'good lesson'!  Most certainly for the rest of the students in the class, this is VERY UNFAIR!! For the teacher, by someone not following through, leaves staging to be re-done & in most cases the students have changes that they must RE-LEARN! (sometimes w/Very short notice)....SO, PARENTS, once committed, if it's not because of an 'Act of God', then PLEASE FOLLOW THROUGH!!!

Recital letters will be handed out in October.  This letter informs the parent how much costume & recital fees are, gives information about the show & informs you of ticket information.  The Studio has a book w/pictures of the costumes, so you & your child may see what they will be wearing & what you will be purchasing!

You may video or use flash camera's during Dress Rehearsal ONLY....This is not allowed during the show performance.  KSD reserves the right to confiscate any and all equipment until after the show.
