Studio Policy

The Studio Policy letter explains the rules of K.S.D, for the Parent & the Student. Please follow the rules of the Studio........In order for the Studio to run smoothly & effectively not only does the staff need to do their job but the Parents & Students need to hold up to their responsibilities also. Everyone's cooperation will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

When observing class please be aware that others are trying to watch their child as they study & learn. The class or the Teacher should not have to be disturbed by 'horse play' in the waiting area!

no food or drink in the Studio! (waiting area, dressing room, dance room, etc. is ok) Thank you.

Attendance: PLEASE let us know if your child won't be attending class for their dance day. If a student is dropping dance classes please let the teacher know. If a student drops classes, they must re-register to return to class.

Students: Your responsibilities are to Practice what you've learned in class. Wear proper dancewear & footwear. NO excessive talking in dance class. DO NOT wear jewelry, shorts or T-shirts to dance class, you may wear the 'studio' t-shirts or cami's that pass teachers' requirements! Please do not come to dance class if you are sick.

Parents & Students: Dance shoes should NEVER be worn outside! Tap shoes need to be checked periodically for loose screws & worn taps, (this can tear up your dance floor!) ALL dancers (especially Intermediate & up) should wear a 'COVER UP' to and from the Studio.

Please Note: ANY 'Act of God' the studio will be closed! No make-up classes!

First & Last Month Tuitions are required for the student to start Class (However, If you have more than one child or your child takes multiple classes per mo., we do offer a break on last month tuition.)

Parents: When paying by the month, tuition is due the FIRST 'dance week' of every month. I DO NOT BILL! If paid after the deadline there is a $15.00 late fee. Please make sure you check the 'events calendar' & the bulletin board to stay updated on fees due... (costumes, dance revue, etc.) & for scheduled events, such as the Christmas show, dance Revue & other information! If a check is returned, the Non Sufficient Fund fee is $35.00 * Note: When making out your check (or using a cash envelope) PLEASE make a memo of child's' name & what the payment is for!

Some months have more dance days than others. We are closed for most of the Holidays. Our end of the year show is usually the 1st or 2nd Sat. of the month, however, we do have a mandatory Studio Rehearsal, a Dress Rehearsal & of course, the Show. (Please remember that you are not only paying for dance class but for the rehearsals & the show as well)

Any student that is interested in performing a solo or specialty # for the Dance Revue, must choreograph & audition the piece. This must be ready by the time costumes are chosen, no later than October! The choreographed piece may or may not be used in the Dance Revue (This of course, will be the teacher(s) decision). It will help the student as we order costumes & get closer to the show if the piece fits the Theme of the Show! (This way the dancer will not have to re-choreograph the dance #) If a piece does have to be re-choreographed by a teacher there will be a $15-25 fee per hour.

DANCE REVUE: You may video tape and take 'flash' pictures at the Dress Rehearsal. For the Dance Revue (show) video taping & flash pictures are not allowed, KSD reserves the right to confiscate any equipment during the show if need be (you may pick up the equipment after the show)

PARENT RELEASE: Insurance is not available per student. As a parent, I am aware of this and will not hold the studio or its personnel responsible. I fully understand the above and have read & understand the Studio Policy for Katrina’s School of Dance
